Help and Policies

Questions, answered.

Printing, sizes and ratios, downloads, custom resizing and licensing: everything you need to turn a Dusty Owl Art file into a piece on your wall.

Printing

Where should I print my digital art?
For results that do our artwork justice, we recommend a professional fine-art or photo lab on heavyweight matte or fine-art paper. A few trusted services:
  • U.S. — finerworks.com, mpix.com, posterjack.com
  • Canada — posterjack.ca, pictorem.com, henrysphotocentre.com
  • U.K. — theprintspace.co.uk
  • Europe — beyondprint.eu
You can also search “fine art printing near me.” Always upload the actual high-resolution file you downloaded — never a link to it.
What paper should I choose?
A textured fine-art paper (such as Hahnemühle) beautifully captures the depth and grain of our pieces. For a more budget-friendly route, a quality matte paper or matte canvas also looks wonderful. When in doubt, ask your print lab.
Can I print at home?
Absolutely. Home printing is perfectly fine for quick or casual displays — just note that colour accuracy and overall quality can vary from printer to printer, and rarely match a professional lab.

Sizes & Ratios

What sizes and ratios are included?
Every download includes high-resolution files across the standard aspect ratios, so you can print small or gallery-large without losing sharpness:
RatioExample print sizes
2:34×6, 8×12, 12×18, 16×24, 20×30, 24×36 in
3:46×8, 9×12, 12×16, 18×24 in
4:58×10, 12×15, 16×20 in
11:1411×14, 22×28 in
ISO / AA5, A4, A3, A2 — plus 5×7, 10×14, 20×28 in

Because these are ratios, each file scales cleanly up or down — print a 4×6 or a 24×36 from the very same file.

Is there a recommended size to print?
Most of our files are optimised for the 4:5 ratio, which preserves the original composition without cropping. If a particular piece is best in a different ratio, it’s noted in the listing. Ultimately, the right size is the one that suits your wall and frame.

Resizing & Custom Sizes

Can I get a custom size?
In most cases, yes — we’re happy to help you get the proportions you need. We offer one complimentary resize per design, typically within 2–3 business days. Please message us with the exact dimensions before or just after purchase. (Split-panel sets, TV/screen art and square crops are excluded.)
My frame is an unusual size — what now?
Reach out via Etsy or WhatsApp with the frame’s inner dimensions. We’ll let you know the closest included ratio, or prepare a tailored file where feasible.

Downloading & Access

How do I download my files?
For the smoothest experience, use a desktop browser:
  • Sign in at Etsy.com (a web browser, not the Etsy app).
  • Open Your account → Purchases & reviews.
  • Select Download Files next to your order. If you don’t see it, click the small grey arrow to the right of the order.
If your files arrive via a Dropbox or Google Drive link, you don’t need an account — choose “continue with download only,” then download each file individually.
I can’t find my download email or receipt.
Check your spam or junk folder first. Gmail users should also look under the Social and Promotions tabs. Adding transaction@etsy.com to your contacts helps future emails land in your main inbox.
I paid with Apple Pay / “Hide My Email.”
If you used Apple’s “Hide My Email,” your receipt was sent to a private relay address. Sign in to Etsy.com through a web browser to find your order under Purchases & reviews — or message us and we’ll help you locate it.
Please don’t right-click to “save” the preview.
The image shown on screen is only a low-resolution preview. Always download the actual high-resolution file from your order so your print stays crisp.
How long will my files stay available?
Please save your files to your own device right after purchase. When a design is retired, it may be removed from our cloud storage within about six months.

Good to Know

Are these physical prints?
No — every listing is a digital download. Nothing is printed, packed or shipped. The frames you see in our photos are styled mock-ups; they are not included.
Do your products fall under EU/UK product-safety rules (GPSR)?
No. We sell digital artwork only, with no tangible product produced or shipped, so these listings are not subject to the EU/UK General Product Safety Regulation.
Where can I find frames?
The frames in our listings are mock-ups, not items for sale. For framing, try frameiteasy.com, finerworks.com or framebridge.com (U.S.), or a local framer.
